Nearly 3,000 police deployed across Mimaropa for Undas security

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The Mimaropa Police Regional Office is ramping up its security presence ahead of the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day observances on November 1 and 2, with nearly 3,000 personnel set to be stationed across the region.

The expanded police deployment will focus on protecting over 200 cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria, alongside major churches and transportation terminals. These locations typically draw large crowds of devotees and families during the annual Undas festivities, when Filipinos visit their departed loved ones.

The regional police force is implementing comprehensive security measures to prevent criminal activity and maintain public order during the holiday period. Officers will be positioned at key entry and exit points of burial grounds and will maintain heightened presence at bus terminals and other mass transit facilities to manage the anticipated surge in travelers.

The security operation reflects standard annual precautions undertaken by authorities to ensure the safety of thousands of Filipinos who participate in Undas traditions across Mimaropa, which encompasses the provinces of Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
