Nearly 300,000 travelers pass through Manila airport ahead of Undas

MANILA — Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recorded 290,844 passengers from Tuesday onward as travelers began their journeys ahead of the Undas holiday period, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

The surge in passenger traffic reflects the annual migration pattern during the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, when many Filipinos travel to visit family graves and commemorate deceased relatives. The period traditionally sees increased demand at the country's primary international gateway.

The MIAA did not provide specific projections for the total number of passengers expected during the full holiday window, but airport operations have been geared to accommodate the anticipated influx. Officials continue to monitor terminal capacity and ground transportation logistics to manage the seasonal peak.

The holiday travel season typically generates significant strain on airport infrastructure and transportation networks throughout the archipelago. NAIA, as the busiest of the country's airport terminals, generally experiences its heaviest passenger loads during this period.
