Nearly 6,000 runners participate in Kodagu Monsoon Half Marathon

The Kodagu Monsoon Half Marathon, held in Gonikoppal, witnessed an impressive participation of 5,902 runners from across the region, making it one of the season's major athletic events. The inaugural flagoff was performed by K.J. George, marking the official start of the competitive race.

The event was jointly organized by the Ashwini Sports Foundation (ASF), KALS, NEB Sports Entertainment, and the State Tourism Department. This collaborative effort brought together multiple stakeholders committed to promoting sports and wellness in the region.

The half marathon, held during the monsoon season, leveraged Kodagu's natural landscape and pleasant weather to attract participants of varying fitness levels. The event reflected growing enthusiasm for organized sporting events in South India's hill station regions.

With nearly 6,000 participants, the marathon demonstrated strong community engagement and the region's potential as a destination for sporting events. Officials from the organizing bodies and tourism department were present throughout the event to ensure smooth execution.
