SEREMBAN — Environmental authorities in Negeri Sembilan are escalating their response to deteriorating air quality, deploying increased resources for field monitoring and enforcement activities as unhealthy haze levels persist across the state.
The Department of Environment has prioritized ground-level inspections and real-time air quality assessments to identify and address pollution sources contributing to the regional haze. Officials are focusing enforcement efforts on industrial operations, open burning incidents, and other activities that may be exacerbating air conditions.
The move comes as air quality indices in several areas of Negeri Sembilan have crossed into unhealthy ranges, prompting health and environmental agencies to alert the public. Residents have been advised to reduce outdoor activities and take precautionary measures to protect vulnerable populations including children and the elderly.
Authorities have urged the public to report suspected cases of open burning or industrial emissions that may be contributing to air pollution. The Department of Environment indicated that the intensified enforcement campaign would continue until air quality returns to acceptable levels.
