Negeri Sembilan MB awaits ruler's approval for assembly sitting

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Abd Mutalib said he is actively working to secure consent from the state's constitutional ruler, Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz, before finalising the date for the next state assembly sitting.

The approval from the royal institution is a necessary procedural step before the state legislature can convene for its session. Ismail indicated that discussions are ongoing to coordinate a mutually acceptable timeline with the palace.

The state assembly sitting is an important legislative function where lawmakers gather to deliberate on matters of state governance and pass legislation. The exact timing of the session has not yet been announced pending the ruler's formal consent.

This development underscores the constitutional role of the Yang Dipertuan Besar in Negeri Sembilan's governance structure, where royal approval is required for key parliamentary procedures. Once the necessary consent is obtained, the menteri besar's office is expected to announce the assembly sitting date publicly.
