Negeri Sembilan MB challenges directive blocking exco access to state building

SEREMBAN, Sept 24 — Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said Tuesday that state executive councillors have been barred from accessing Wisma Negeri, the seat of the state administration, and urged authorities to reconsider the directive.

The restriction has hampered the ability of exco members to carry out their official duties and access necessary facilities within the building, Lasim indicated during remarks made in Seremban. He did not specify the reasons cited for the ban or which authority had issued the order.

The Menteri Besar stressed the need for a formal review of the directive, suggesting the measure may not be in line with established protocols governing the conduct of state government business. Exco members are key participants in the state's executive decision-making process and typically require regular access to government premises to perform their responsibilities.
