Negeri Sembilan MB open to court resolution on proclamation row
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim has signalled willingness to pursue legal channels to resolve the ongoing proclamation issue, urging stakeholders to view the matter through the lens of state constitutional law rather than political considerations.

Ismail Lasim said the state government remains committed to addressing the proclamation dispute, but stressed that any resolution must be grounded in the state constitution and governed by established legal principles.
The Menteri Besar urged all parties involved to set aside political or personal interests when examining the matter, emphasizing that constitutional issues require objective legal interpretation rather than partisan positioning.
"If necessary, the courts are the appropriate forum to settle this issue," Lasim stated, signalling that judicial intervention may be pursued should negotiations fail to produce a resolution.
The proclamation disagreement has emerged as a significant constitutional matter in Negeri Sembilan, with various stakeholders holding differing interpretations of the relevant provisions. Lasim's remarks suggest the state administration is prepared to respect whatever outcome the judiciary may determine, provided it aligns with constitutional requirements.
