Negeri Sembilan ruler affirms state constitution binds all parties

Hassan Ab Hamid, the Undang Luak of Rembau, has reiterated that the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution (UUTKNS) remains binding on all parties and cannot be superseded by the State Executive Council.

In his statement, Hassan emphasised that all parties must uphold respect for the state constitution and acknowledge the jurisdiction and determinations established by the Dewan Ku-Kuasa Undang (DKU), or Council of Rulers.

The remarks come as clarification on the constitutional hierarchy within Negeri Sembilan's governance structure, underscoring the supremacy of the state constitution in matters of state administration and executive authority.

The position reflects ongoing emphasis within Negeri Sembilan's constitutional framework on the role of traditional institutions and their oversight of state governance matters.
