BACOLOD CITY — Authorities in Negros Occidental have announced a large-scale security deployment ahead of the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day festivities, with the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) mobilizing 3,119 personnel from October 30 to November 3.
The deployment will comprise uniformed police officers, personnel from partner government agencies, and civilian force multipliers tasked with maintaining order at cemeteries, churches, and public gathering spaces throughout the region. The initiative aims to deter criminal activities and ensure smooth crowd management during peak visitation periods.
Authorities will establish checkpoints at strategic locations and increase visible patrols in high-traffic areas to provide reassurance to the public. The operation is designed to address concerns related to theft, pickpocketing, and other crimes that typically occur during festive occasions when large crowds gather.
The multi-agency approach reflects efforts by the Negros police command to balance public safety with the peaceful observance of traditional religious practices. Officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement personnel stationed throughout the region.
