BACOLOD CITY — The 40th iteration of the Negros Trade Fair, held under the theme 'Butlak 2026,' generated approximately P118 million in combined reported sales, according to event organizers. The performance represents significant growth compared to the previous year's results, underscoring sustained demand for goods and services produced in the region.

The Association of Negros Producers (ANP), which organized the fair, attributed the strong showing to robust market interest in Negrense products and enterprises. Trade fair chairperson MaryAnn Colmenares highlighted the sales figures as evidence of the vitality of the regional economy and the quality of local offerings.

The six-day event took place at SMX Convention Center at SM Aura Premier, providing local producers and businesses with a platform to showcase their wares to a broader consumer base. The venue's location in metro Manila expanded the fair's reach beyond the Negros region, potentially contributing to the elevated sales performance.

The year-on-year growth of 39 percent reflects improved economic conditions and increased consumer spending, while also suggesting effective marketing and organizational strategies by the ANP. The fair's success is expected to provide momentum for regional businesses heading into the remainder of the year.
