Nepal flash floods leave hundreds trapped at hydropower sites

Nepal is grappling with a major humanitarian crisis as flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall have swept across the country, leaving hundreds of construction workers in precarious situations. Among those affected are 933 workers currently trapped at multiple hydropower project sites, according to official reports.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah acknowledged the severity of the calamity, characterizing it as an unprecedented and deeply distressing event for the nation.
