Nepal flood victims' families urge government to deploy rescue teams
Support groups representing families affected by recent flooding in Nepal are calling on authorities to intensify search and rescue operations. They have also requested the appointment of liaison officers in key cities to improve communication with bereaved families.

Families of those killed or missing in Nepal's recent floods have appealed to the government to dispatch additional search and rescue teams to affected areas, citing concerns over the pace of recovery efforts.
Representatives of victim support groups said the deployment of more SAR personnel is critical given the scale of devastation across multiple districts. The groups have documented numerous cases where families remain without information about missing relatives days after the disaster struck.
In addition to enhanced rescue operations, the family representatives have formally requested the appointment of dedicated liaison officers in Kathmandu and Beijing to facilitate direct communication between government authorities and bereaved families. Officials say such measures would help streamline information flow during the crisis management phase.
The appeals come as rescue teams continue combing through affected regions for survivors and bodies. Local authorities have not yet responded formally to the requests, though government officials acknowledged receiving the petitions.
