Rescue teams across Nepal have ramped up efforts to locate missing persons and assist affected communities in the aftermath of severe flooding that has devastated large swathes of the Himalayan nation. The disaster has left hundreds dead and displaced thousands from their homes, with waters receding slowly in several districts. Nepalese authorities have coordinated with domestic and international rescue organisations to deploy additional personnel and equipment to remote and mountainous regions where access remains difficult.
The Nepali government has submitted formal requests to the international community for immediate humanitarian aid and long-term reconstruction support. Meteorological authorities warn that heavy rainfall could persist in coming weeks as the monsoon season continues, prompting officials to maintain alert levels and prepare for potential secondary disasters including landslides and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
