New classrooms at Legazpi school eliminate shifting schedules

LEGAZPI CITY — Rawis Integrated School has opened a new two-story building containing eight additional classrooms, addressing long-standing space constraints that had forced the institution to operate on shifting schedules.
The facility was constructed with P40 million in funding from the Department of Education's Basic Education Facilities Fund. Officials expect the expanded capacity to accommodate nearly 1,000 learners, 36 teachers, and five non-teaching staff members without the need for split sessions.
The elimination of shifting schedules allows students to access the full school day without interruption, improving instructional time and learning outcomes. The new building represents a significant infrastructure investment in the region's education system.
The project reflects ongoing efforts by the Department of Education to upgrade school facilities across the country and provide students with adequate learning environments. Legazpi City residents have welcomed the addition as a solution to chronic classroom shortages that have affected the school for several years.
