New public walking track opens at Suhurupaya in Battaramulla
Authorities have opened a newly constructed walking track and leisure area at the Suhurupaya Building in Battaramulla to ease the experience of citizens waiting to obtain national identity cards and passports.

The Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development officially inaugurated the recreational facilities on September 23, providing visitors with improved amenities during their time at the premises.
The walking track and adjacent leisure area were developed to enhance the comfort of members of the public who visit the Suhurupaya Building to apply for or collect identity documents. Officials stated that the facilities would help people spend their waiting periods in a more pleasant environment.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by authorities to improve citizen services at key government buildings. The recreational space complements existing services at the Suhurupaya Building, which processes applications for national identity cards and passports.
Members of the public can now access the new walking track during operating hours. The Ministry has not announced any restrictions on use of the facilities.
