Jonathan McKinsey, a senior executive at The New York Times, was fatally shot at a sports complex in California, authorities said. Police arrested Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen near the crime scene shortly after the shooting. Both suspects are the parents of McKinsey's estranged spouse.
McKinsey's death occurred amid escalating tensions within the family, with his transgender identity cited as a source of conflict.
