TAGBILARAN CITY — Authorities in Bohol are investigating the abandonment of a newborn boy found outside a house in Panglao at approximately 3 a.m. on Friday, October 30. The infant was discovered placed on a small table outside the residence of 53-year-old Myrna Ayup.
The discovery came just four days after another newborn was found abandoned near a school in the same municipality, prompting concern among local officials over the recurring incidents. Both cases have been reported to authorities for further investigation and appropriate action.
The newborn has been taken into care by local welfare agencies. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment and to identify the child's parents or guardians.
The repeated incidents have raised alarm in the community, with local officials reportedly strengthening efforts to address the underlying causes of infant abandonment and to encourage residents to seek proper assistance through available social services and welfare programs.
