Nghe An provincial authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to creating a competitive investment climate for South Korean enterprises, signalling expanded opportunities in the province's key economic zones. Officials outlined plans to develop cleared land within the expanded Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone and simplify administrative procedures to accelerate project approvals and operations.
The province is prioritizing clean energy infrastructure development as a cornerstone of its investment strategy, positioning itself to attract technology-driven and renewable energy companies seeking sustainable manufacturing and operations bases in Southeast Asia. This focus aligns with growing demand from foreign investors for environmentally responsible industrial locations.
The investment push comes as South Korea maintains its position as Vietnam's leading foreign investor, having accumulated nearly 103 billion USD in registered capital across the country. Enhanced coordination between Vietnam and South Korea extends beyond individual provinces, with the two nations deepening cooperation on economic zones, trade facilitation, and regional initiatives including this year's APEC agenda.
Nghe An's overture reflects broader efforts by Vietnamese provinces to differentiate their offerings and compete for quality foreign direct investment. The combination of expanded industrial zones, administrative efficiency, and clean energy commitments aims to appeal to South Korean companies evaluating new investment destinations in the region.
