The NHAI has launched a tender process for the development of the Amaravati Outer Ring Road, a major infrastructure project valued at ₹11,537 crore. The six-lane access-controlled highway is designed to improve connectivity and reduce congestion around the Andhra Pradesh capital region.
The project has been divided into four separate packages to facilitate competition and efficient project delivery. Each package will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), a funding structure where the government provides periodic annuity payments to the concessionaire alongside toll revenues, reducing upfront burden on private developers.
Bidders are required to submit their technical and financial proposals by November 18, 2024. The competitive bidding process aims to attract qualified infrastructure developers capable of executing this large-scale road project to international standards.
Once completed, the outer ring road is expected to serve as a critical alternative route for through traffic, enhancing the overall transportation network in the Amaravati metropolitan area and supporting the region's economic development objectives.
