NIA court denies bail to Pulwama terror attack accused Insha Jan

The special NIA court rejected the bail plea of Insha Jan, a Pulwama district resident accused of involvement in the terror attack that killed over 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel in February 2019. Jan was arrested on March 3, 2020, alongside her father, Peer Tariq Ahmad Shah, in connection with the investigation into the militant operation.

The court's decision to deny bail comes as the NIA continues its probe into the attack, one of the deadliest militant strikes in Kashmir in recent years. The agency has been investigating the network of individuals suspected of providing support and coordination for the operation.

Insha Jan's case has drawn attention as it involves a woman accused of playing a role in the conspiracy. The NIA has maintained that sufficient evidence exists linking the accused to the terror attack network. The rejection of her bail plea means she will remain in judicial custody pending further proceedings.

The Pulwama attack in February 2019 triggered significant security operations in Kashmir and heightened tensions in the region. Multiple arrests and investigations have followed as agencies work to dismantle the militant network responsible for the incident.
