NIA issues arrest warrant for Pakistan-based LeT commander Saifullah

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued an arrest warrant against Saifullah, a Pakistan-based commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), citing his alleged involvement in a series of terror attacks across Jammu and Kashmir. The central investigative agency identified Saifullah as a pivotal figure in the militant organization's operational planning and execution within Indian territory.

According to the NIA's investigation, Saifullah has maintained an active role in LeT's activities for over two decades, serving in a command capacity that has allowed him to coordinate multiple strikes across the region. The agency has linked him to significant terror incidents, including attacks that have resulted in substantial casualties among civilians and security personnel.

Notably, the warrant comes in connection with the Pahalgam terror attack in Anantnag district last year, which resulted in 26 deaths. Investigators have determined that Saifullah played a directing role in planning and facilitating that assault, demonstrating his continued operational involvement despite his presence across the border.

The warrant issuance represents an escalation in the NIA's efforts to systematically dismantle LeT's command structure and hold key operatives accountable for cross-border terror activities. Authorities continue their investigation into additional attacks that may be linked to Saifullah and other Pakistan-based LeT commanders active in the Kashmir region.
