MANILA — The National Irrigation Administration and partner agencies are accelerating preparations to counter the impact of the looming super El Niño, focusing on irrigation system maintenance and canal rehabilitation works, the Palace announced Wednesday.
Malacañang press officer Claire Castro provided the assurance during a briefing, saying the NIA has outlined comprehensive mitigation measures designed to minimize disruptions to agricultural operations during the anticipated weather event.
The coordinated effort encompasses routine maintenance of irrigation infrastructure and targeted clearing operations on irrigation canals to ensure optimal water distribution.
