India's Nifty 50 index appears poised for a rebound from its current support level at 22,000, according to technical analysis from CLSA, as the economy shows signs of hitting a cyclical bottom. The view reflects growing confidence among market watchers that the recent selloff may have run its course, presenting potential opportunities for investors.
The first resistance barrier for the index stands at 23,070, according to Laurence Balanco, an analyst tracking the benchmark. Beyond this initial hurdle, the Nifty faces a more significant resistance zone spanning 23,654 to 24,183, where the index's 50-day and 200-day moving averages converge—a technically significant area that has often acted as a turning point for major moves.
The identification of these technical levels comes as India's economy shows tentative signs of stabilizing after recent weakness. Cyclical indicators suggest the Indian market may be positioning itself for a recovery phase, though sustained momentum will depend on the index clearing multiple resistance points.
Market participants will be closely monitoring whether the Nifty 50 can hold above 22,000 and build a foundation for higher levels. A decisive break above the 23,654-24,183 resistance zone could signal a more robust rally, while failure to sustain above these levels may indicate further consolidation ahead.
