Nifty breaches 20-day moving average, targets 23,500 level

The Nifty 50 has successfully broken through its 20-day moving average, rekindling optimism among technical analysts who are now tracking the index's potential advance toward the 50-day moving average positioned around the 23,500 mark.

According to market technicians, the immediate support base has shifted to the 22,776-22,800 band, following the index's decisive movement above the 20-DMA level. This consolidation zone is expected to provide a floor for any near-term pullbacks, while resistance remains situated between 23,100 and 23,150.

The breach of the 20-day moving average suggests building momentum in the broader market structure. If the index sustains above current support levels, analysts anticipate a test of the 50-DMA could materialise in the coming sessions, signalling a potentially stronger uptrend.

Market participants are closely monitoring the 23,100-23,150 band for signs of selling pressure. A sustained breakout above this zone would bolster the case for a run toward 23,500, while a failure to hold support at 22,776 could signal a temporary reversal of the positive technical setup.
