NIMS Hyderabad performs free cardiac surgeries for children worth ₹20 lakh

The National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad has successfully completed 19 complex cardiac surgeries for children as part of its fifth paediatric cardiac surgery camp, providing critical interventions that would otherwise cost families up to ₹20 lakh per procedure at private hospitals.

The camp was conducted in collaboration with Healing Little Hearts, a non-profit organisation focused on improving access to cardiac care for underprivileged children. The partnership reflects NIMS's commitment to extending advanced surgical expertise to patients who cannot afford treatment at commercial healthcare centres.
