Nine Singaporeans missing after Nepal-Tibet flooding kills 180

The nine Singaporeans remain among the most concerning cases for the city-state's authorities, who are coordinating with Nepali and Chinese officials to establish the whereabouts of the missing nationals.
Beyond the Singaporean contingent, a total of 517 foreign nationals have been reported missing in the wake of the disaster, highlighting the scale of impact across both affected territories. The floods have displaced thousands of residents and damaged critical infrastructure, complicating rescue and recovery operations.
Nepal and China have mobilized search and rescue teams to comb through affected areas, though difficult terrain and ongoing weather conditions have hampered efforts. Regional governments have also opened relief centres to assist survivors and gather information about missing persons.
