Nishu advances to final trial for World Championships 53kg slot
Wrestler Nishu has earned a spot in the final selection trial for India's 53kg representative at the Senior World Wrestling Championships after winning Monday's national trials. The showdown with Asian Games-bound Antim Panghal will determine which wrestler represents India in Kazakhstan next month.

Nishu secured her place in the decisive final trial after emerging victorious in the 53kg category at the national selection trials for the Senior World Wrestling Championships held at Indira Gandhi Stadium on Monday. The wrestler defeated Thishka in a closely fought contest to claim the trial victory.
Under the Wrestling Federation of India's selection protocol, Monday's trial winners have earned the right to challenge the Asian Games-bound wrestlers in a final trial to secure berths for the Senior World Championships. Nishu will now face Antim Panghal in the upcoming final trial, with the winner representing India in the 53kg category at the international event.
The Senior World Wrestling Championships will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from October 24 to November 1. The final trial between Nishu and Antim is scheduled to take place at a date to be announced by the federation.
Meanwhile, Two-time U20 World Champion Kajal maintained her winning form by topping the 76kg category, defeating Siksha in the final bout. The national trials will continue with selection matches in four non-Olympic weight classes to be conducted at a later stage.
