NIT-Warangal, one of India's premier engineering institutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the development and deployment of ozone-based disinfection technology. The initiative seeks to harness oxidative properties of ozone gas for enhanced sterilization and disinfection applications across various sectors.
Ozone-based systems have emerged as an environmentally sustainable alternative to conventional chemical disinfectants, offering rapid pathogen inactivation without leaving harmful residues. The technology holds particular relevance for water treatment, air purification, and surface sterilization in healthcare and industrial settings.
Through this partnership, NIT-Warangal's research expertise in environmental engineering and technology innovation will be leveraged to refine and optimize ozone generation and application methodologies. The collaboration is expected to explore scalable solutions suitable for deployment in Indian institutional and municipal environments.
The institute has a track record of translating laboratory research into practical applications addressing real-world challenges in infrastructure, energy, and sanitation sectors. This MoU aligns with broader national initiatives to develop indigenous disinfection technologies and reduce dependency on imported systems.
