Nita Ambani inaugurated the foundation-laying ceremony for the Nita Mukesh Ambani Anant Ashray, a proposed 100-acre facility located in Karjat on the outskirts of Mumbai. The integrated care home aims to serve as a comprehensive residential complex offering long-term support and services to vulnerable populations across multiple demographic groups.
The project represents a significant philanthropic initiative addressing care infrastructure gaps in the region. The expansive campus is designed to accommodate orphans requiring shelter and education, senior citizens in need of specialized care, and individuals living with disabilities, consolidating multiple care services within a single purpose-built environment.
The foundation stone ceremony marks the commencement of construction for the facility, which is expected to serve as a model for integrated social care infrastructure. The location in Karjat, situated approximately 50 kilometers from central Mumbai, was selected to provide a spacious, dedicated setting for the residential complex.
The Nita Mukesh Ambani Anant Ashray joins other initiatives by the Ambani family focused on healthcare, education, and social welfare across India. The facility's development reflects growing emphasis among major philanthropic organizations on creating comprehensive care ecosystems for marginalized and vulnerable communities.
