Nithari case accused Surendra Koli found dead in apparent suicide

Surendra Koli, a prime accused in the Nithari serial murders that shocked Delhi and its adjoining areas, was found dead on Tuesday in Haridwar. His body was discovered hanging from a noose at a tea stall he operated in the Bhuptalwala area, police said.

Local police confirmed Koli's identity through identification documents and photographs recovered from the scene, which matched records from the Nithari case. Station House Officer Kundan Singh Rana said the identity documents found at the location conclusively established that the deceased was Surendra Koli.

Koli was the primary accused in the Nithari killings, one of India's most notorious serial murder cases. The horrific crimes came to light in 2006 when the skeletal remains of multiple victims were discovered in the Nithari village area of Noida, triggering a major police investigation.

The circumstances surrounding Koli's death are still being investigated by local authorities. Preliminary reports suggest suicide, though a formal inquiry is underway.
