Heavy traffic persisted along the northbound and southbound lanes of the Tulaoc, also known as the San Simon Interchange, in Pampanga on the North Luzon Expressway on Tuesday morning, according to the NLEx Corporation.
The congestion was linked to rising water levels in the nearby Pampanga River, which created obstacles for the normal flow of traffic through the critical interchange.
The San Simon Interchange serves as a major junction on the NLEx, connecting motorists traveling between Metro Manila and northern provinces. Traffic advisories were issued to alert drivers of the developing conditions and encourage them to exercise caution through the affected area.
The NLEx Corporation monitored the situation closely as water levels continued to pose challenges for expressway operations. Motorists were advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if available during peak hours.
