NLEX resumes toll collection after Pampanga lane reopenings

The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) resumed toll collection on Wednesday afternoon after crews completed work on critical sections of the major arterial highway serving northern Luzon. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) confirmed that toll operations recommenced at 12:01 p.m., affecting vehicles traveling through Pulilan in Bulacan and San Fernando in Pampanga.

The resumption of toll collection came after all lanes at the Tulaoc Overpass and San Simon Interchange were fully opened to traffic. The completion of these sections marked a significant milestone in restoring full operational capacity to the expressway, which serves as a vital economic corridor connecting Manila to northern provinces.

The NLEX carries substantial traffic volumes daily, and the reopening of the affected lanes is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on alternative routes. The expressway remains a critical link for both passenger and commercial vehicles traveling between the capital region and areas including Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, and Pangasinan.
