MANILA — Motorists traveling through the North Luzon Expressway are facing severe disruptions along the Tulaoc and San Simon Interchange sections due to elevated water levels in the adjacent Pampanga River.
According to a traffic advisory issued Monday afternoon, the third lane in both northbound and southbound directions remains impassable to Class 1 vehicles as a precautionary measure. The expressway operator has advised commuters to exercise caution and expect heavy congestion in the affected areas.
The flooding situation stems from seasonal monsoon rains and upstream water releases from dams in Bulacan province. NLEX Corp. has deployed personnel to monitor water levels and assess conditions for potential lane reopenings.
