NLMC completes ₹584 crore RINL land auction, targets HIL monetisation

The National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC) has concluded a significant land auction of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) properties, generating ₹584.33 crore through the divestment of 264 parcels spread across two bidding phases. The sale represents a key component of the government's asset monetisation strategy aimed at unlocking dormant public sector resources.

Following the successful RINL land disposal, NLMC has turned its attention to Hindustan Integrated Limited's (HIL) real estate portfolio. The corporation is now in preparation stages to monetise these additional land assets, which form part of the broader fundraising objectives slated for the current fiscal year ending March 2027.

The dual-phase auction approach adopted by NLMC ensured competitive bidding and optimal price realisation for the RINL properties. The monetisation drive reflects the government's continued push to generate revenue from underutilised land holdings across public sector enterprises, thereby improving fiscal resources available for development and operational priorities.

The sequential focus on RINL followed by HIL assets underscores NLMC's structured approach to large-scale land monetisation across multiple central public sector undertakings. These divestment activities form part of a wider government initiative to enhance financial efficiency and unlock capital trapped in non-productive property holdings.
