The National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC) is preparing an ambitious drive to raise up to ₹15,000 crore through the monetisation of non-core assets held by public sector undertakings during the financial year 2027, according to statements on its asset disposal programme.
Having already mobilised ₹9,000 crore to date, NLMC has identified a substantial pipeline of ₹5,000-6,000 crore in surplus and non-core PSU assets available for monetisation in the current fiscal year. The initiative forms part of the government's broader strategy to unlock trapped capital in state-owned enterprises and redirect resources toward priority areas.
The asset monetisation programme targets surplus land, real estate, and unutilised infrastructure assets held across various public sector units. By converting these dormant assets into productive capital, the initiative aims to support government finances while enabling PSUs to streamline their balance sheets and operational focus.
The corporation's accelerated timeline reflects growing emphasis on optimising the asset base of state enterprises. Officials indicate that a structured approach to identifying, valuing, and divesting non-core holdings will remain central to achieving the monetisation objectives across the PSU ecosystem.
