Panna has established itself as a productive diamond mining area for NMDC over the past decade. The corporation's largest recovery from the site to date remains a 34.37-carat gem-quality diamond discovered in 2010, which was subsequently sold for ₹3.2 crore, demonstrating the commercial viability of stones mined from the region.
The latest find reflects ongoing exploration and extraction efforts at the Panna mine, which continues to yield diamonds of varying sizes and quality grades. NMDC's operations in the region contribute significantly to India's domestic diamond supply and support the country's gemstone sector.
