MACC Chief Commissioner Abd Halim Halim stated that a state government continues to hold legitimate authority to pass policies and financial allocations right up until the assembly is formally dissolved. The clarification addresses questions that have arisen regarding the legality of government spending during transitional periods when elections are imminent. According to Abd Halim, the sitting administration retains full executive powers and budgetary approval rights as long as the assembly has not been officially dissolved. The MACC's position provides legal assurance to state governments navigating the administrative requirements between administrations, confirming that routine fiscal operations can proceed without impediment during these critical junctures.
