KOTA BHARU — Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed Wednesday that no Malaysians were harmed in coordinated attacks that struck three southern Thai provinces, allaying concerns among residents near the border region.
The attacks, which occurred simultaneously across multiple locations, represent a continuation of violence that has periodically affected Thailand's southernmost provinces. Such incidents have long raised security concerns for residents in neighbouring Malaysian states, particularly Kelantan and Terengganu.
Police said they were monitoring the situation closely and maintaining communication with Thai authorities to ensure the safety of Malaysian nationals in the border areas. The confirmation came as Thai security forces responded to the incidents and stepped up operations in the affected provinces.
While cross-border incidents remain a concern for Malaysian authorities, officials have emphasised their coordination with Thai counterparts to maintain regional stability and protect citizens on both sides of the border.
