Kelantan Police Chief Yusoff Mamat said Tuesday that preliminary investigations have found no Malaysian involvement in the violent incidents that occurred across three southern Thai provinces.
The police chief urged Malaysian citizens to postpone travel plans to Thailand for the time being as a precautionary measure to avoid unforeseen complications.
"We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available," Yusoff said, emphasizing the importance of public vigilance during this period.
The advisory comes as tensions remain elevated in Thailand's restive southern border region, which has experienced sporadic violence in recent years. Malaysian authorities have intensified their coordination with Thai counterparts to ensure the safety of citizens in the area.
Travelers are advised to monitor official government travel advisories and check with their respective embassy or consulate before making any trips to Thailand.
