No PSA records found for Mary Grace Piattos, court hears

MANILA – A top official from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) told the impeachment court on Tuesday that the agency has found no records for an individual named Mary Grace Piattos in its vital statistics database.

Assistant National Statistician Marizza Grande made the disclosure during testimony on the 22nd day of the ongoing trial. She said the PSA conducted a search of its records following a letter request from the House committee on good government and public accountability seeking to verify whether such a person exists in the agency's vital statistics system.

According to Grande's testimony, searches of PSA records yielded no birth certificate, marriage license, or death certificate for anyone by that name. The search represented part of a broader verification effort by the House committee as part of its investigative proceedings.

The testimony forms part of mounting evidence being presented before the impeachment court as the proceedings continue into their fourth week. The significance of the PSA findings remains to be determined as the court pursues its investigation into the matter under review.
