No rush for early elections, DAP chief tells unity government
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has urged the coalition government to focus on delivering promised reforms rather than calling snap polls. With 15 months remaining in its current term, Loke said there is sufficient time to implement the Cabinet's agreed agenda.

The DAP leadership has pushed back against speculation of early elections, signalling the unity government's commitment to completing its reform programme before the next general election.
Loke stressed that the coalition has adequate time to fulfil the commitments made by Cabinet ministers and that there is no necessity to dissolve Parliament prematurely. The 15-month window remaining in the current parliamentary term should be utilised to deliver tangible results for the public, he added.
The statement comes amid ongoing discussions within the ruling coalition about its direction and priorities. Political analysts have previously noted that the unity government faces pressure to demonstrate concrete achievements to maintain public confidence and coalition cohesion ahead of the next election cycle.
