No Safe Haven in Modern Conflict, Says India's Top Military Commander

India's Chief of Defence Staff General N S Raja Subramani warned that traditional notions of safety have become obsolete in the face of modern conflict, with no geographic location or sector immune from the reach of contemporary warfare capabilities.

Addressing concerns about civilian and military vulnerability, the senior defence official underscored the transformed nature of combat operations in the 21st century. The CDS noted that technological advancement and evolving tactical doctrines have fundamentally altered the security landscape across the region.

General Raja Subramani identified organisational agility and speed of learning as paramount combat capabilities in the current environment. He emphasized that military forces capable of absorbing new information and adapting swiftly to changing circumstances would gain decisive advantages over adversaries.

"Whoever learns faster and adapts faster to the circumstances is going to win," the CDS asserted, highlighting adaptability as a crucial measure of military preparedness. His remarks underscored the Indian defence establishment's focus on building flexible, learning-oriented armed forces equipped to respond to dynamic security challenges across South Asia.
