Noel Tata to step down as Titan vice-chairman this month

Noel Tata, a senior member of the Tata family, will retire from his position as vice-chairman of Titan Company Limited on November 12, marking the end of a 23-year association with the listed jewellery, watches and eyewear retailer.

Titan's latest quarterly results underscore strong operational momentum at the conglomerate. The company posted a net profit of ₹2,393 crore in the second quarter of FY2026-27, representing a 113.7 per cent year-on-year increase. While the substantial jump reflects the company's underlying business performance, the figure was also bolstered by a one-time gain during the quarter.

The timing of Tata's retirement comes amid robust financial performance across Titan's portfolio of brands, which include Tanishq, Mia, Fastrack and Titan-branded timepieces. The company has maintained its position as a market leader in India's organised jewellery and accessories segment.

Tata's departure closes a significant chapter in Titan's corporate history, during which the company expanded considerably and established itself as a premier destination for premium jewellery and luxury goods in India. His successor and specific details regarding the transition of his responsibilities are expected to be announced by the company's board.
