MEXICO CITY — Lando Norris has delivered a glowing assessment of Kimi Antonelli's championship-winning performance this season, emphasising that the McLaren driver's accomplishment merits far more public acknowledgement.
Speaking ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, Norris suggested that Antonelli's dominance throughout the campaign may have created a misleading impression of ease. "He's done an insane job this year," Norris said of his outgoing teammate, highlighting the consistency and skill required to secure the title.
As Norris prepares to depart McLaren following his final race as the reigning world champion, his comments underscore the competitive level within the team and the strength of Antonelli's performance across the season. The acknowledgement from a fellow elite competitor carries particular weight in Formula One's intensely competitive environment.
Antonelli's championship success marks a significant milestone in his career, cementing his status among the sport's top drivers as the 2024 season enters its final stages.
