North Korea has expressed a lack of interest in recent military exercises conducted jointly by the United States and South Korea, dismissing the scaled-back nature of the drills as irrelevant to its security assessment.
Official statements from Pyongyang characterised the exercises as provocative in nature, pointing to a pattern of military activities rather than viewing them in isolation. The reclusive state referenced a series of additional defence operations carried out by Washington and Seoul throughout the year, suggesting it views the cumulative effect of such activities as evidence of aggressive posturing.
