Northeast monsoon to bring scattered rains across Philippines Saturday

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday will see scattered rain showers across portions of the country as the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, maintains its grip on the region.

In its 4 p.m. weather update, Pagasa indicated that the combination of the amihan and easterly winds will produce cloudy skies with intermittent rainfall in vulnerable areas. The weather system continues its seasonal pattern of bringing moisture-laden conditions to the Philippine islands.

Residents in rain-prone areas are advised to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible localized flooding and landslides. The agency noted that conditions may vary across different regions, with some areas experiencing heavier precipitation than others.

Pagasa will continue issuing regular weather bulletins as the system progresses throughout the weekend.
