CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Police in Northern Mindanao conducted an intensive fugitive apprehension campaign throughout August that culminated in the arrest of 286 individuals, according to data released by the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10). The month-long operation, which ran from August 1-31, focused on locating and capturing fugitives with outstanding warrants across the region's six provinces.
Among those arrested were 72 high-profile suspects who had evaded capture for extended periods. The arrested individuals face charges ranging from violent crimes to property offenses, with authorities prioritizing cases involving crimes against persons and drug-related violations.
The PRO-10 data underscored law enforcement's intensified efforts to maintain public safety and reduce the number of wanted criminals operating in the region. Officials credited the operation's success to improved coordination among municipal, provincial, and regional police units, as well as community cooperation in providing information leading to arrests.
