MANILA — Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, who previously served as police director of Northern Mindanao, has assumed the position of acting commander of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), according to Philippine National Police officials.
The appointment was confirmed by Colonel Allen Rae Co, the PNP's public information chief, in a statement issued to media outlets. Abrahano's assignment marks a leadership transition at the NCRPO, which oversees police operations across Metro Manila and its surrounding areas.
The career police officer's transfer from the Mindanao region to the capital reflects the PNP's personnel management strategy as it addresses ongoing security and public order challenges in the national capital. Abrahano will oversee the operations of police units covering Metro Manila until a permanent director is appointed to the position.
The NCRPO, as the largest police regional office in the country, is responsible for maintaining peace and order in one of Asia's most densely populated urban areas. The appointment comes as the police service continues efforts to strengthen its command structure and operational effectiveness.
