Northern Mindanao police seize P19M in drugs, arrest 126 suspects

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Law enforcement authorities in Northern Mindanao have intensified anti-drug operations, marking a significant enforcement push in the region's ongoing campaign against narcotics trafficking.

Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr., the newly installed director of the Police Regional Office-10, announced the accomplishments during his first media briefing after assuming command. The operations conducted over approximately two weeks resulted in the seizure of contraband valued at around P19 million and the arrest of 126 individuals suspected of drug dealing activities.

The drug enforcement drive reflects the regional police command's commitment to combating the narcotics trade in Mindanao. Babagay's early focus on anti-drug operations underscores the priority assigned to tackling substance abuse and trafficking networks across the northern portion of the island.

The arrests and seizures represent a continuing effort by Philippine law enforcement to dismantle drug distribution networks and reduce the availability of illegal narcotics in communities throughout the region.
