CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A coalition of religious leaders, educators, civil society advocates, youth organizations, and professionals has mobilized to push public support for an anti-political dynasty bill through a people's initiative process.
The Dapat Isa Lang (D1L) Movement was formally launched at Xavier University, commonly known as Ateneo de Cagayan, to generate momentum for the constitutional proposal limiting family members from holding elected office in succession.
Campaign representatives are calling on residents of Northern Mindanao to participate in an online signature drive as part of the people's initiative process, which allows citizens to directly propose amendments to the Constitution outside the legislative branch.
The effort brings together stakeholders from multiple sectors, reflecting growing interest in institutional reforms aimed at preventing entrenched political power structures. The campaign aims to mobilize grassroots support across the region as the initiative moves forward.
